A couple weeks ago I was excited to have finally made a goal card again, although I reinvented it just a tad. For those unfamiliar with what a goal card is, it's a summary of your definite purpose stated as an affirmation on a card that you carry with you as a reminder. The specific instructions, and purpose to doing this are explained in Neopolian Hill's book 'Think and Grow Rich'. Personally, I've been on a journey with my goal card, ever since I found out about the concept.

To start off, I began thinking about my deepest desires, what I wanted to do, and the impact I wanted to make. I had physical goals, but I struggled to make them my official major objective and purpose in life because they just we're all of what I wanted, there was something deeper. Long story short, I couldn't nail down a specific one thing that I wanted more than anything else, so I attempted everything in order of importance. For 2020, the goal card started with a spiritual desire, and then had a specific income and business target affirmation. That year, was the pandemic and of course a rollercoaster ride. Looking back I think it's no coincidence that I felt obligated to state my spiritual desire first, considering that it turned out to be the main area of transformation that year.

In 2021 I decided to make a goal paper instead of a card. I titled it "The Vision" and detailed a summary of my goal in every area of life. On the back I wrote my why, the plan, what I committed to give in exchange for receiving my desires, and a couple other things. It felt wonderful to have everything on one paper, and I carried it with me all folded up.

During 2022 I further realized how much my core desires were fulfilled in God, and also my roll in choosing to allow myself to have everything. The part of me from 2019-2020 that felt like I was searching for something just seemed to vanish, and the only thing left was figuring out the bridge between having this spiritual bliss and what to do in life that had a reason behind it.

Heading into 2023, I actually didn't make a goal card. I did however make my planner, re-align, and set intentions. Even so, I just knew that at some point I would figure out what to write. In the process of creating my website I was able to articulate to myself the vision and message I have in a way that was more concise and clear. The next level of break through came one morning at work. I was walking around the store and feeling my way into a more productive mental conversation, when I realized that I seemed to frequently grapple with what to focus on. This was actually pretty strange to me, because I have ambitions, things I'm building, and purposes I was living out.

After some reflection, I realized that even though I'm doing a lot, I haven't associated meaning and significance to these things that connect to a senior objective or mission is life. This thought alone brought clarity because in articulating to myself why everything I'm doing connects to my intentions, I felt another level of alignment and peace. Later on, with renewed excitement about the process I made a re-invented goal card, that for now I'm calling a focus card. Here's an outline if you're interested:

Intention: describe the qualities you want to embody and practice

Vision: You're desired outcome

Mission: What you're giving and contributing

Focus: The activities and processes you're focusing on to achieve your aim

I'm continuing to evolve in the journey, so who know's what my goal card will look like in the upcoming future, but for now the recent realizations have been awesome.

Sending Love,

- Rosie
